Ways of atmosphere normalization of deep open-pits

The paper presents results on numerical modelling of processes of air currents distribution in the pit space and normalization of pit atmosphere by a pressure system of ventilation through ventilation raise workings and horizontal excavations. Significant changes have been recorded in the structure of high-velocity currents in the pit space when using alternative ways of air supply. The calculation results on removal of harmful impurities from the pit space at different velocities of air supply through excavations have been given.

Occurrence of mining-induced seismicity during bulk blasts at the underground mines, "Apatit" JSC

The research results on identifying the rock mass reaction on dynamic impacts during mining operations at underground mines have been presented. Impact of bulk blasts has been assessed on the general occurrence of seismicity and its occurrence in 3 day period before and after bulk blasts. Several space-time regularities for occurrence of seismic events sources have been stated, they were triggered by a blast in the vicinity of blast and boundaries of stoping face. The stages of rock mass instability depending on external impacts have been determined. This allows increasing reliability of zoning seismic hazardous sectors of a mine field and creates feasible prerequisites for improving temporal location of increased risk periods.
